Meraki Insight & vMX

For vMX deployments, is a Meraki Insight license needed if a Meraki Insight is opted?  Any documentation or rules on this?

Hi @johnnyngena , if you require Insights then an Insights license is required

I'm not an employee of Cisco/Meraki. My posts are based on Meraki best practice and what has worked for me in the field.

You mentioned vMX in your Title;   you can't run MI on vMX.

Remember that MI works by sitting on the boundary between the HTTP client's LAN and that site's WAN link.

The vMX sits at the opposite end of the HTTP connection - adjacent to the server.

See "Where should I enable Meraki Insight?" here:

https://documentation.meraki.com/MI/Meraki_Insight_Introduction

GreenMan, so basically MI is ran on the customer's premises or LAN, not in the cloud where the vMX sits?  If yes, then Meraki Insight license does not apply to a vMX, correct?

Correct - MI runs on the MX appliance 'near' the client, not on vMX.
