Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Meraki Community!

What are you looking forward to do or accomplish in 2020 now that the holidays are wrapping up? Are there any projects in the works that you are excited about?

I am beginning to jump into Network Automation with Python so I am hoping by the end of 2020 I know a lot more than I do now! 2020 is also "New Cisco Cert Year!" Does anyone have any plans on taking any of the new certs? How about that Meraki Solutions Specialist Cert? Is that on your radar when it comes out (hopefully soon).

As always thanks for the on going and ever growing support this community has. Here is to another year of fun, learning, and new experiences!

-Cheers

Happy New Year!

I'm planning on doing Meraki's CMSS as soon as it comes out, of course, but I'm also looking at the Cisco DevNet Associate. Goal is to test around April-May for DevNet, so that other people can fall on their faces and tell the rest of us what topics we really need to pay attention to. Listening to other people say "I wish I had known more about X" (usually IPv6 on a routing exam) is helpful to me.

Why yes, my resume does look very developer-y... oops.

While I wait for other people to fall on their face with DevNet, I might seriously work on ENSLD (designing Cisco enterprise networks).

How about you?

Happy New Year. I as well am aiming for CMSS as soon as it comes out.

Sounds like a lot of learning @Nash. I like it! I am planning on either the DevNet or Enterprise route as well. I also plan on getting into the security side of things so the CEH is also on my list as well! Keep it up and hopefully we both will get some new letters in our email signature!

@KRobert, I really would recommend against the CEH. Security+ is considered the basic cert for entry level people, with CISSP being what you get once you've got the experience. I am a year off from enough experience for CISSP, and it may replace the enterprise certification for me. Depends on what I decide to do.

CEH is not well respected amongst serious security practitioners. If you're interested in transitioning to security, I've heard good things about Daniel Miessler's guide.

So Security+ if no experience, CISSP if you've been working a few years. I'd also be hitting up BSides conferences, nosing around infosec Twitter (there's a lot of goofing around/cat pics), and maybe drafting a talk. I'm going to BlueTeamCon in June, and trying to draft a talk to give on their Unconference track.

I would like to do the CMSS when it comes out as well.

I took a look at the DevNet certifications, but decided against them.  If their was a Meraki specific one I would do it - but there is not.  You have to learn a whole lot of other Cisco products as well, like DNAC - and many of the those other products I have zero interest in.

Happy new year everyone! First day back for me and I have to admit I am feeling a little rusty and struggling for motivation, I would prefer to be out fishing at the moment.

First day back for me as well.  So many emails.

@PhilipDAth  I hear you there, that is the one downside with having logs emailed daily is the amount of emails to clear.
