I'm looking to purchase a Meraki GX50HW-US (see link below) but I want to know if there is any kind of license that is needed to update, maintain, or manage this device.

Hi, The Meraki Go products do not require a separate license like traditional meraki equipment. You do have the option of purchasing a license for Cisco Umbrella which will give you additional security protection.
