MDM disable and re-enable and app on iOS.

Hello Everybody,

My client wants the ability to disable and app on his kid's iPhone whenever they are misbehaving. He wants to then renable the app when he feels they've earned it.

Is this at all possible through MDM?

Kind of a big deal

Show or Hide apps option in the MDM settings. You must have enterprise for this to work fyi. If not you can also do single app mode which will only allows one app to open, full screens it, and you cannot back out of it. Hope this helps.

yeah I was afraid of that. if the app is in use will these options kick the user off the app?

Well let's say you do single app mode. When the policy kicks in it will only have the "single app" you chose and you can't do anything. Example: Calculator app. Unless the child loves solving math problems that's all they get.😂

OK. ugh, there's no ban X app functionality? And then unban X app?

@trunolimit  Unless the device is setup in DEP and supervised there is nothing to stop the kid from factory resetting their phone and bypassing any restrictions the parents have put on.

@BlakeRichardson they can if they know the reset function but if an app is on single app mode they can't even go to settings but to your point if they do the "home""power" button then they can reset in itunes. So yeah.

@kYutobi  kids are smart these days. The best way to test security of devices these days is to have kids haha.
