Meraki Insight - Information

Hey guys/gals, I'm looking more deeply into Meraki Insight.  Are there different license types advanced/enterprise?  I believe they have different sized options depending on the size of your FW/MX.  Rough pricing?  Any information would be appreciated.  I'm likely going to get a license for one of my sites to play around with it.

@Adam, most of your questions can be answered in the licensing section of this document: https://documentation.meraki.com/MI/Meraki_Insight#Licensing. Yes, there are different sizes of insight based on your MX model and no you do not require the advanced security license to run Insight. Pricing seems to be no available on our pricing site so I'll see what is publicly available but a search of a major distributor showed ballpark pricing for non-partners.

I also just heard back from the Insight product specialist and they are working to add the pricing to our price calculator tool in the near future.

Hi, is there a trial for an existing MX64 which already licensed with advanced license? Regards.

I am running a trial on my MX65 right now, so yes, you can get a trial for a MX64.  I contacted my sales rep and she set me up.   Kyle in in support has been great about answering my questions and listening to my suggestions

It is a very interesting product, and I recommend getting a trial.  While the UI can still use some improvements, the ability to send emails when sites drop out of tolerances is great!

I got the trial so I could figure out if it could help a client diagnose an intermittent slow LAN between two sites.  Insight only supports HTTP and HTTPS protocol, so I can't use it to test RDS as I had planned.  I have a work around in mind, so I will be seeking trial hardware and an Insight license soon.

It's just an additional Insight license based on the size of your MX regardless of Adv or Ent.

I haven't seen pricing yet...

I really like that you can easily move licenses around. In the Dashboard Meraki has made it very easy to take an Insight license and move it from one MX to another on demand, without calling support. In theory you could have a small number of licenses that you place onto MXes during troubleshooting, and then move to another once done. Pretty slick!

Here are list prices for Insight.  Regular discounts should apply.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but does anyone have a clear understanding or link to explain the sizing limitations?  Example- a client has an MX250, but just a 100Mbps WAN connection. They would be fine with the small license?

The data sheet has recommendations, but I want to understand what would be the pros/cons of the previous example.

Thanks
