Meraki MDM settings and Apple School Manager

I've moved from VPP to ASM and am now trying to add the ASM account to Meraki.  When I go to

Meraki  >  Organization  >  Configure  >  MDM  >  MDM settings  >  Apple VPP Accounts  >  Add new

I can enter in all of the required info and upload the token that I downloaded from

ASM  >  Settings  >  Apps & Books  >  My Server Tokens

but after I click "Update" Meraki refreshes the page and the new info I entered is not there.  I don't have a new VPP account listed under Apple VPP Accounts.

Any suggestions for what I might need to do?

Question: did you have a legacy VPP account?

Yes, it is a legacy VPP account.

and, hopefully I'm not stating the obvious, you did this:

Yes, correct, I followed those instructions.

Any ideas of what might be causing this?

Kind of a big deal

Are you using the free or paid version of Meraki MDM?

The free version.  Is there a difference?

Not that I can tell, I just wanted to know so I can test with our setup.

So you are creating a new account as well as this test account?

Actually, you've prompted me to try something different.

Yes, there was the existing VPP account and I was trying to add the new ASM account as well.  What I have done this time is deleted the VPP account first and then added the ASM account.  It works now.

Thanks for your help.

Good, I was wondering if that might be the issue. Glad it worked out.
