Re: Welcome! Please introduce yourself.

  • A bit about yourself & your work

I am a Network & Security Consultant with several companies in Nigeria. I started out my career as a Telecom Engineer before transitioning to Enterprise Networks several years ago. I am a Cisco Enthusiast and also offer training locally to young Engineers and interns in my country especially in the CCNA track. I recently became a Teaching Assistant for Cybrary where I assist in developing content for Cybersecurity related training to students the world over. This helps me in building myself professionally and bridging gaps in my skill sets and competencies.

I intend to go back to school in Canada by September to further my training in Information Security Systems. I was a recipient of Cisco Scholarship in CyberOps in 2017. I enjoy studying a lot like a monk and always want to learn new stuff especially in IT.

  • Your experience with Cisco Meraki

I am quiet a newbie when it comes to Meraki and actually just had my first training session for ECMS 1 today so I am really excited to be a part of this community. Meraki is a fascinating solution and I camt wait to dig in learn and further familiarize myself with all it has to offer.

Although I have tried for over 4 months or earlier to get on the previous CMNO training I wasn't lucky to get a spot before it was retired.

  • A fun fact about yourself

I love to play chess and the piano. I enjoy family time a lot especially playing with kids.

  • A bit about yourself & your work - I work for a Global SAP B1 VAR on the IT side of things. By role, I am an IT Sales Consultant, however, by work definition I am a Solutions Architecht and help client design & implement network infrastructure. I'm here on my own and my views and comments don't reflect my company's views. If you need to find me, you can do so on LinkedIn.
  • Your experience with Cisco Meraki - I've been working with Meraki for just over 2 years now and I absolutely love it! I've migrated over 80% of our MSP clients to the Meraki portfolio.
  • A fun fact about yourself - I'm an Information Technology major, and I was a Senior Help Desk Analsyt before I took on this position. I mainly chose to go this route because of the different challanges I get to deal with on a day to day basis since no 2 networks are ever the same and each come with their own challanges. I also get to engage and work with people more now that I've moved into this position. Aside from work, I love spending time with the Family and friends, and when I'm not doing that, I love watching movies or doing small things on my cars. Not a mechanic by any means, just like to tinker and think I'm good at it.

I have been a Network Engineer for the past 25 years and almost all of them with Cisco.

My first taste of Meraki is when I actually moved to Pre-sales engineer for Cisco in 2016 and started creating many BOMs and quotes for Meraki equipment.

I received my Meraki CMNA in 2017 and have sold everything past up to the MV32 cameras and the MS355X2 switches.
